August 29 Playlist plus Thoughts.....

http://wvkr.radioactivity.fm/playlist.html?djoid=1633&date=08-29-2008

Wotta disappointment there was no Johnny Tremendous today! But life happens. Threw the show together in record time. "Summer" songs for the end of summer for the 60s and 70s sets. I normally *hate* theme shows. (ahem, Mr. Fornatale....) Hope this one wasn't too painful?

Where did the Summer of 2008 go??? The house was mostly in a state of turmoil, so there were less "Thursday Night Bashes" than usual, but still enough to empty more than a few bottles of tequila! Maybe we'll have a few more before the pool closing October 1st. You're invited! Call for details....

Phones were a little quiet today. Maybe it being the start of Labor Day weekend had something to do with it. But I must make note that I got THREE calls asking about Wilmer & The Dukes' cover of "Living In The USA"! Wow!

The Mama Cass song touched one of you deeply as well....Glad you liked it.

Someone actually didn't think the Tiny Tim record was that bad! They must listen to the Bachelor Pad at Colony 3! BTW, good show, Eatabone, last night! I love it when you break in frequently for shorter perios of duration. And you only have an hour--you shouldn't start at 6:03 and end at 6:57!

And I got a little flak for talking over the Dells' "Stay In My Corner". Hey, it was the 6 minute version with him vamping at the end, but since I was praising the vocal, the caller said I should have let us listen. Point taken. Speaking of soul, I did not love Vince's R&B set. Just being honest. But let's face it, where else you gonna hear that kind of stuff?

And I was chatting with a few callers who absolutely loved Thursday night's "Orphanage" Peter Clark rules. Bummer we won't hear him for the next two weeks. That guy almost always evades the Pledge Drive.

Speaking of which, please don't forget "The Lost And Found Oldies Show"! Even if you pledge during another show, mention that you listen Fridays from 3 to 5. Thanks in advance.

Happy Birthday, Michael Jackson (50!) AND Barry Gibb (61!!)

August 22 Playlist and Hey, WVKR, What The...???

Ummm...did WVKR *have* to revamp the website thus knocking out the webcast on a FRIDAY??? Not the smartest move to alienate listeners so close to the pledge drive which starts September 9. Please remember to mention that you listen to The Lost And Found Oldies Show if you pledge during another show.

oooh, it seems you guys are likin' this new format....

Not sure if I'll *always* do SOULdies, but it was nice for a change in the 70s segment, no?

And how bout those 80s tracks? Take THAT, 92.9!

And the 60s? Come on, NO one can't touch that variety. Can they? If so, let me know where, ok?

Peter Clark's "Orphanage Of Rock And Roll" Is on again this Thursday 6 to 8 pm. YAY!

Eatabone's "Bachelor Pad" came back yesterday after a too-long absence. I dunno, did you get the feeling Jonny and that commute might not agree with each other? Seems like quite the schlep for a half hour show. Call him and tell him it's worth it!

Speaking of Johnnys, Tremendous is scheduled to guest this coming Friday August 29! On tap a live call in contest with PRIZES! Yippee! Plus his usual brand of wit.

Also, I *MAY* sub for Nick in The Big Blue Kitchen so tune in at 9am this Friday to make sure. If so, it will be THREE HOURS of SOULDIES! WAHOO!

Would love your feedback. Either here or lostoldies@yahoo.com

THANKS for your support!

08/08/08 Playlist

Good to be back!

Also good to hear from Chuck The Cheater (not really a cheater) after too long an absence!

Happy Birthday to our sweetheart Alice from Middletown who turns $%*# Saturday!

Speaking of sweethearts, how about that double dose of Lyn The She Devil filling in for both Nick AND Doug Friday! Nice!

I can't believe Bob from Poughkeepsie has the David Jones LP from 1965! I must get a copy. Maybe when I see him at the FMU Record Fair this November....

Sam The Tattoo Man made me a fantabulous offer for the pledge drive. I won't hold him to it, but sho would be nice if he follows through.

Did the show a little differently this week. Any thoughts? Playlist below.

Thanks for listening!
