May 14,1972 Lost And Found SOULDIES Playlist

Counted down The Billboard Top 50 Soul Singles from this week in 1972. Had to skip a few but managed to feature over 30 records including the full length version of our closing theme "Walk In The Night" by Jr. Walker & The All Stars. Background jams were from the Eddy Senay album "Hot Thang" whose title track was featured on the show and is one of my personal favorites, one I haven't heard in a dog's age, having only recently acquired the album.

April 30 Playlist: Don Day

Thanks to the listener who coined my Don from Middletown Tribute Show "Don Day". Love it.

Not sure where Don went to. Hate to lose such a loyal listener. And that goes for the rest of you who made a habit of calling and then all of a sudden stop. We DO notice. I know sometimes I have to be short so I can catch up and not leave you with dead air but know that the fact that you take the time to call is MUCH APPRECIATED!

Email is best lostoldies@yahoo.com

So thanks to Don from Middletown who was responsible for turning me on to half the records you heard on today's show: http://wvkr.radioactivity.fm/playlist.html?djoid=1633&date=04-30-2010

Next Friday, May 7 is May 1970 AM Radio Gold. See ya then and thanks for listening!

April 16 Playlist

I like nothing better than discovering a truly lost record, one of those shoulda been a hit thingies.

I spend the little free time I have these days on YouTube, ITunes, Amazon, trying to find such gems and spotlighted several recent finds from the 60s on today's show. Feedback was inspiring; here's the playlist to remind you what you heard:

April 9 Playlist + Sneak Peak

Today's look back to the AM radio hits (and rarities!) of April 1970 garnered some of the most positive feedback in the 6 years I've been on WVKR. I think having that extra half hour, knowing I wouldn't have to rush contribued to the fun. Maybe it was just the great tunes mixed in with the WTF songs. Whatever, YOU made it fun for me. THANKS! Here's the playlist:

Friday April 16 will feature many truly lost 60s gems--records I've never played before--along with better known singles on the charts from 1965--1969.

Friday April 23 it's the return of Johnny Tremendous! He's been away far, far too long.

Love your feedback: lostoldies@yahoo.com
